Participate in Continuing Medical and Nursing Education courses on your own time

MEDNAX has always had a keen emphasis on education, because education is the basis of improving the quality of care that is given to our patients. As part of this commitment, in February 2020 the MEDNAX Center for Research, Education, Quality and Safety (CREQS) established the MEDNAX Neonatology Grand Rounds series, designed to address pertinent topics and relevant issues that influence the clinical practice of neonatal medicine. The series also strives to enhance the quality and availability of continuing medical and nursing education.

What to expect with free CME/CNE webinars

The free continuing education courses are open to all clinicians, not just our affiliated clinicians, and are designated for CME credits and CNE contact hours. As many as 900 clinicians join monthly for the live webinar. The series offerings are curated by MEDNAX Neonatology Grand Rounds course director, Tim Biela, MD, Neonatologist and Medical Director in San Antonio, Texas. Working closely with Reese Clark, MD, Vice President of Clinical Research, Dr. Biela determines current and important topics, seeking what will have the greatest benefit in providing advanced patient care. Given our objectives to advance the high-quality delivery of patient care of infants, speakers are identified and invited to give a Grand Rounds presentation on their area of expertise. The clinical management of pulmonary arterial hypertension in infants with bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) and the practical considerations for use of probiotics in the NICU are just two examples of the valuable topics covered during this year’s series.

Four things that make our Grand Rounds series unique:

  • Current: We cover up-to-date, evidence-based topics, trends, and guidelines in the field of Neonatology, presented by experts in the field.
  • Virtual: Now more than ever, we’re able to meet an increased demand for access to quality virtual continuing medical and nursing education.
  • Accessible: Our offering includes live webinars featuring a presentation followed by Q&A with the presenter. Knowing the complex scheduling demands of clinicians, should you not be available to join the live session, the presentation recording becomes available on-demand within our Continuing Education portal.
  • Free: The live webinars and on-demand presentations are available to all clinicians at no cost.
