Join Us for the Next NEO Grand Rounds on New Publications that Should Change NICU Care

Pediatrix’s commitment to clinical and research excellence is evidenced by our comprehensive educational and professional development opportunities offered online or during live sessions.

The Pediatrix® Neonatology Grand Rounds series addresses pertinent controversial issues that influence the clinical practice of newborn medicine. Webinars are held on the first Wednesday of every month from 4 to 5 p.m. Eastern Time.

On July 3, Reese H. Clark, M.D., will review recently published articles that should influence health care decisions for neonates who need intensive care.

Topics covered will include:

  • The role of supplementation with human milk-based fortifier, as compared to bovine milk-based fortifier, to reduce the incidence of necrotizing enterocolitis, sepsis and mortality in extremely preterm infants exclusively fed human milk.
  • The role of human milk feedings in improving health outcomes and reducing neonatal morbidities.
  • The safety and efficacy of ibuprofen in the closure of patent ductus arteriosus in preterm infants.
  • The role of oral valganciclovir for treatment in infants with congenital cytomegalovirus and an abnormal hearing screen.
  • The results of a recent clinical trial comparing the Eat, Sleep, Console approach versus usual care for neonatal opioid withdrawal.
  • The importance of optimal levels of oxygen saturation in infants born with significant perinatal distress.
