Advancing Health Through Research

Research plays a key part in moving health care forward. Pediatrix® established the Center for Research, Education, Quality and Safety (CREQS) to further the company’s mission to Take great care of the patient, every day and in every way.TM Each year, our clinicians participate in and publish clinical research to advance their knowledge as well as that of their colleagues and the general public.

This commitment was on display at the recent Pediatric Academic Societies (PAS) meeting, where Pediatrix-affiliated physicians and other clinicians were part of nearly 50 unique presentations. Our affiliated clinicians' participation ranged from platform presentations and poster symposia to workshops and poster presentations, and several gave multiple presentations during the five-day meeting. The quality of the presentations was exceptional, and topics ranged from Improving Neonatal Antibiotic Administration Timeliness to Enteral Nutritional Practices in Extremely Preterm Infants and Reducing Time to First Skin to Skin Care in Extremely Preterm Infants.

Through the leadership of our affiliated clinicians and with the support of CREQS, we have cultivated a culture of continuous quality improvement and safety. This is the cornerstone of our success and helps us to fulfill our mission. CREQS provides centralized operational support to our investigators and research staff with administrative assistance, education and training and management of clinical research trials.

To help facilitate and support research efforts, Pediatrix established a Research Advisory Committee (RAC). The goal of the RAC is to design, implement and maintain a program for clinical research oversight and support that enables our practices to conduct research that is safe, effective, financially viable and legally compliant while optimizing research opportunities. The RAC’s multidisciplinary approach involves the collaboration of clinical and business professionals, including finance, legal and compliance experts. It has enhanced our research efforts and improved overall process flow. With participating clinicians located throughout the country, the RAC supports a comprehensive scope of research efforts, allowing for a more in-depth look at our specialties. This nationwide perspective allows us to better anticipate future needs and opportunities. Pediatrix-affiliated clinicians have written more than 1,000 scholarly papers in the past 20 years.

Our ongoing commitment to clinical and research excellence is evidenced by the extensive educational and professional development opportunities we offer online and during live sessions. Each year, thousands of health care providers worldwide take advantage of educational programs hosted by Pediatrix’s CREQS, which is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education to physicians and is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

CloudCME®, our Continuing Education platform, helps meet the continuing education needs of health care providers through an accessible, online platform. We invite you to participate in our Pediatrix Neonatology Grand Rounds webinar series, which addresses pertinent controversial issues that influence the clinical practice of newborn medicine. The complimentary webinars are held on the first Wednesday of every month from 4 to 5 p.m. Eastern Time.

We are proud of our commitment to research and the opportunities it provides our affiliated clinicians to grow and thrive in their practice of medicine. To learn more about our research, please visit our CREQS website.
